Nape does not collect, store on a server, or share any personal data. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and makes no network requests.
Nape reads orientation data from your AirPods (or other supported headphones) through Apple's CoreMotion framework, with your permission. This data is processed in memory on your iPhone to compute your head's forward tilt. Only daily and hourly summaries (time tracked, time leaning, estimated average load, number of nudges) are kept, in the app's own storage on your device, for the last 90 days. Raw motion data is never stored and never leaves the device.
If you enter your body weight to personalise the neck load estimate, it is stored only in the app's local settings on your device.
To keep tracking while the app is in the background, Nape plays a silent audio track. This is the mechanism iOS provides for apps that need to keep processing sensor data. No audio is recorded.
The Dynamic Island and Lock Screen display use Apple's ActivityKit on device. Nape does not use push notifications to update them.
Deleting the app removes all of its data. There is nothing to delete anywhere else.
Nape is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date.
