Heron is a PHP scratchpad for macOS made by Voxyfy. This page says what it does with your data. Short version: your code and your servers stay with you.

What stays on your Mac

• Your snippets, history, saved snippets, settings and themes are stored on your Mac only.
• Server connections are stored on your Mac; passwords, SSH keys and passphrases go only into your macOS Keychain.
• When you run a snippet on a server, Heron connects to that server directly over SSH. Nothing passes through us.

What leaves your Mac

• License check. When you enter a license key, and about once a week afterwards, Heron sends the key and your Mac's name to Polar (our payment provider) to confirm it is valid. See Polar's privacy policy.
• Updates. About once a day Heron fetches appcast.xml from this site to see whether a new version exists. The request carries your Heron version and macOS version, nothing else.

What Heron does not do

• No account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking.
• It never sends your code, your database contents or your server details anywhere.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Polar, who is the merchant of record. We receive your email address and the license key they issued, so we can help you with support and renewals.
